In 1986, The CityKids Foundation collaborated with renowned artist and activist, Keith Haring, on the creation of the monumental ‘CityKids Speak On Liberty’ artwork, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty.

This 90’ x 30’ artwork became the largest freestanding piece ever created by Haring.

It has been dubbed ‘The People’s Masterpiece’ as it engaged 1,000 young people from across all five boroughs of NYC in the artistic expression of what liberty and freedom meant to them.

This ambitious project not only marked a milestone in public art but also became a symbol of empowerment for the youth of New York City.
